    WHAT HAPPENED?

Sargent scored his 13th goal of the Championship season on Saturday, leading the way in a 3-0 win over Stoke City. The goal was his eighth in nine matches, as Sargent has launched himself right up the goalscoring charts in the English Championship.

It may have come at a cost, though, as Norwich boss David Wagner says the striker is dealing with a slight ankle injury after the win.

WHAT NORWICH BOSS DAVID WAGNER SAID

"Josh [Sargent]'s ankle is sore," Wagner told reporters after Norwich's 3-0 win over Stoke City on Saturday. " He got another knock and a little bit of a twist; he has an ice pack on it, so we have to for sure assess this."

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

The injury comes just days before the USMNT's semifinal against Jamaica, with Sargent a candidate to start for the U.S. due to his recent surge of form. The Norwich star was one of three strikers called into Gregg Berhalter's team as Sargent joins Ricardo Pepi and Folarin Balogun as the options to start at the No. 9 position.

The upcoming camp is set to be Sargent's first with the USMNT since the World Cup, as the Norwich City star did not make a single appearance for the team in 2023. Sargent featured in all three groups stage matches in Qatar, starting two of them.
